Summary of Action
“Street 2030” brings global challenges closer to everyday life by connecting themes such as climate justice, social inclusion, and gender equality with the realities people experience in their local communities. The project focuses on turning passive awareness into active co-responsibility.
Rather than approaching solidarity as charity, the project highlights how different social and environmental challenges are interconnected. It encourages participants to recognise these links and reflect on their own role within them.
Using street-based methods, the project takes learning out of traditional settings and into public spaces. Through low-threshold activities such as the “Global Living Room,” people are invited to engage in informal conversations, which gradually lead to deeper dialogue and concrete local actions.
A distinctive aspect of the project is the involvement of international students living in Slovenia, who contribute perspectives from the Global South. This ensures a more inclusive and balanced understanding of global issues, grounded in real experiences.
With a strong focus on young people, women, and groups with fewer opportunities, the project supports participants in developing critical awareness and encourages practical changes in behaviour. By combining education, dialogue, and action, it contributes to building more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities.
