Summary of Action
The SustainABLE project aims to inspire and empower young people to adopt sustainable practices and improve their well-being through an innovative mobile application. The app serves as a gamified platform, offering daily challenges, DIY guides, and local event listings to promote environmental and social responsibility.
With features like streaks, points, and rewards, the app motivates users to consistently participate in small actions, such as using public transport, reducing waste, and supporting local sustainable businesses. SustainABLE bridges the gap between local and global challenges by incorporating stories and contributions from young migrants and refugees from the Global South. These individuals will not only share their unique perspectives but also actively co-create app content, fostering cross-cultural understanding and breaking down stereotypes.
This approach aligns with the project’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity. The app’s geo-location feature highlights nearby sustainability-related events, workshops, and organizations, encouraging users to connect with their communities. By combining individual actions with collective engagement, SustainABLE cultivates a culture of global citizenship and responsibility.
In collaboration with local organizations, schools, and community groups, the project will directly engage 500 young users, with an estimated indirect reach of 1,000 additional community members. SustainAble supports the goals of Connect for Global Change by promoting critical understanding of global issues, fostering local-global connections, and enabling practical, scalable solutions for a sustainable future.
