Summary of Action
This multidisciplinary project focuses on dialogue, and on Palestinian cultural heritage, particularly heritage related to water. The project aims to make a positive contribution to the debate in the Netherlands about Palestine.
Discussions about the violence in Gaza and about possible solutions are highly polarised, debates in society have become constricted and unsafe.
We have chosen a new approach to soften this debate and make room for Palestinian voices, an approach at the intersection of art, heritage and dialogue. We make room for the voices of young women in the Netherlands with roots in the SWANA region and for young women who protect heritage and nature in Palestine,
We will research and conduct ways of dialogue through the use of rituals and the regulation of the nervous system.
Activities include research and workshops, dialogue sessions and knowledge testing with audiences, meetings with Dutch activists and organisations, and a media campaign.
Expected outcome: 400 activists and supporters participated in safe dialogue, 100,000 supporters and followers receive knowledge about the project and findings, and about the role of Palestinian women as protectors of nature. Finally, a new opera is created based on the research and findings.
